La Grande carrée | La Maison & son histoire
We are the twentieth owners of this beautiful residence, the construction of which dates back to 1702, under the flamboyant reign of Louis XIV.
Enlarged at the time of Louis Philippe then fragmented by its various owners in the 20th century, we discovered it after a desire for a change of life, in poor condition and requiring heavy work.
Love at first sight !
We acquired this house in December 2019. Since then, we have been constantly restoring it to restore it to its former glory.
The roofs were tired, it was raining in the house and the dry rot was pointing the tip of its mushroom, quick to destroy this noble building.
Some chimneys threatened to collapse and had to be consolidated or rebuilt urgently. The plumbing and heating required serious modernization, the electricity required a general overhaul...
The top floor of the house had remained in the 19th century and the park was fallow, but its charm and presence won us over.
